How does the Electronic Theses/Dissertations (ETD) Submission Form work?

Answer

There are three parts to fill out in the mandatory ETD Submission form:

  1. Thesis Upload, after answering basic information about yourself and your thesis
  2. Copyright and Conformity Statement: certifying you are not infringing on copyright and giving JCU the rights to archive your thesis (and potentially publish it online depending on the options chosen in part 3)
  3. Access Statement

The Access Statement has 3 options:

  1. Worldwide access under a CC BY-NC-ND license
  2. Restricted access only to the JCU community under a CC BY-NC-ND license
  3. No public access

Only the first option (worldwide access) requires an embargo, which is a 3-year delayed release of the thesis.

For more information about the embargo, please visit the How to submit theses page of the John Cabot University ScholarShip - Digital Archive. You can also contact the Reference and Instruction Librarians for help at referenceservices@johncabot.edu
